Producing this newsletter requires a great deal of time researching the articles I write as well as the references I provide.  The newsletter goes out to many people who simply read it and have no other contact with me.  Unfortunately, this does little to put food on my table.  Thus, in the interest of being able to continue eating-I have made some changes.

As usual, the title article for this newsletter (an original article written by me) and all the linked articles in the newsletter are free for all to read. The title article is a two-part article named "Solutions for Erectile Dysfunction". Part 1 (about 6 pages) is free to all in this newsletter. The complete booklet (40+ pages) is available for a cost of $12.50

Ladies - please don't feel left out. Our next newsletter will address some common female issues.  As always, I appreciate your inputs and hope you enjoy this newsletter.

Treatment Motivation of Men With ED

Although ED can impair sexual satisfaction as well as the quality of partnership and life, men affected often avoid seeking treatment. There is growing evidence that women have an influence on their partner's help-seeking behavior. This qualitative study examined men with ED and their female partners in order to detect motivational factors for men to seek treatment and motivational actions of the women to support their partners.

Taking opioids, especially high doses and over several months, is strongly associated with markers for sexual dysfunction, a new study shows.

Men with back pain being treated long term with potent opioids were about 50% more likely to fill a prescription for erectile dysfunction (ED) medications or testosterone replacement than those not taking opioids, the study found.

Shockwave Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction

Low-intensity extracorporeal shock wave therapy (LI-ESWT) is a novel modality that has recently been developed for treating erectile dysfunction (ED). Unlike other current treatment options for ED, all of which are palliative in nature, LI-ESWT is unique in that it aims to restore the erectile mechanism in order to enable natural or spontaneous erections.

Erectile Dysfunction a Red Flag for Heart Attack and Strokes

Erectile dysfunction is an early warning sign of heart disease and may provide a window of opportunity to stave off heart attacks and strokes, according to a review article in the June issue of the International Journal of Clinical Practice.Men with erectile dysfunction typically develop heart-related symptoms within two to three years, and they are at risk of experiencing a cardiac event such as a heart attack or stroke within three to five years, the study shows.

Regular NSAID Use Linked to Erectile Dysfunction

Regular use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is associated with erectile dysfunction (ED), according to the results of a prospective cohort study reported online February 21 and in the April print issue of the Journal of Urology.

Other Interesting News

Pharmaceutical Sales Reps and Patient Safety
"Minimally adequate safety information" did not differ in the US and Canadian sites, despite regulatory differences. In Toulouse, consistent with stricter standards, more harm information was provided. However, in all sites, physicians were rarely informed about serious adverse events, raising questions about whether current approaches to regulation of sales representatives adequately protect patient health.

Wisdom on Flu Vaccination Questionable
Influenza has been oversold as a disease, and the most widely promoted preventive measure - vaccination - rests on shaky scientific foundations, according to a BMJ essay.

In an attack that could draw mention around water coolers, the author says much of the measured benefit of vaccination owes to "healthy user bias." That is, healthier people are most likely to get vaccinated. And, he says, the CDC acknowledges this bias in its guidelines document.

FDA-Approved Drug Linked to 542 Deaths and 2,367 Hemorrhages,
But -- FDA Refuses to Pull It
Pradaxa (dabigatran) is an anti-clotting drug used to treat a type of irregular heartbeat called nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (AF) and to prevent strokes. It's used as an alternative to warfarin, an older drug, and needs less monitoring (warfarin requires regular doctor's visits, blood tests, and dietary restrictions). In clinical trials, Pradaxa outperformed warfarin in reducing the risk of stroke, and it initially appeared to be safer, causing less hemorrhaging. But that turned out not to be the case. In 2011, Pradaxa caused 542 people to bleed to death.

Web Site Changes and News

I have recently added several new products to my website. Many of them are on a new  page which you can reach with this "Special Supplements" link.  The new items range from food products like Coconut Oil and Ultra Greens, to special power herbals like Oregano Oil (a strong antiviral) and Stevia (a natural sweetener).

We now have access to laboratory blood tests through Labcorp. I have recently partnered with DirectLabs -- a leader in direct access laboratory testing. This allows me to offer a variety of important health and wellness blood chemistry tests extremely discounted prices. Results are confidential and available online. Blood is drawn at a local LabCorp drawing station thru a direct requisition sent to you via email. You can order tests directly thru me via a phone call or on my website. My prices and test descriptions are shown on their website, and are the same as if you bought the tests directly. However, if you order your tests from me directly, I handle all the paperwork and will help you review and understand your test by phone at no extra cost.  You can reach the test ordering page by clicking here

We have also recently added no interest financing for 6 months on the website thru PayPal and "Bill Me Later." This gives you six months to pay for all purchases over $99.00 at no additional cost.  You'll have the options to choose "Bill Me Later" when you reach the PayPal Checkout Cart.

Last, but certainly not least, we now have Vacuum Erection Devices in stock as discussed in Part 2 of my "Solutions for Erectile Dysfunction" article. Click either link to buy or view the item.
