In my opinion, the latest media feeding frenzy showing people walking around town wearing N95 facemasks is designed to get headlines — not to convey the truth! And, such headlines instill a false sense of confidence in a device that is not designed to be effective at preventing at what people are using it for.

The paragraph below is quoted directly from an article on FDA website regarding N95 facemasks and respirators. Click here for the entire FDA article.

“While a facemask may be effective in blocking splashes and large-particle droplets, a facemask, by design, does not filter or block very small particles in the air that may be transmitted by coughs, sneezes or certain medical procedures. Facemasks also do not provide complete protection from germs and other contaminants because of the loose fit between the surface of the facemask and your face.”

Or, in other words, the N95 facemasks that folks are stampeding to the stores to buy are near useless as protection against inhaling germs or viruses in the surrounding environment. The N95 facemask has one purpose — to prevent germs from the wearer’s sneezes or coughs from infecting other people. That is why they wear similar masks in operating rooms. AND, that is why doctors don’t wear them when making rounds in hospitals!

To prevent germs from entering your airway, you must use a mask that seals all outside air from entering your airway, otherwise known as an N95 respirator. N95 Respirators may protect you, providing they are worn in all areas where you may be subject to inhaling flu germs. But who is willing to walk around constantly with a device that resembles a World War II gas mask?

So then, what is the best way to protect yourself against the “swine flu” or any other flu or contagious illness that’s kicking around? It is simple! Keep your immune system in good working order!

You can tune up your immune system with nutrients like Vitamins C, D, and E, Colloidal silver, and herbs like Astragalus, Grape Seed Extract, Echinacea and Goldenseal. All of these items are relatively inexpensive and can be purchased on my website or in most health food stores. Click here to view the webpage where you can purchase them.

And, if you still get the flu anyway, there are also homeopathic remedies like Ocillocoxinium, Gelsemium, and Bryonia you can use.
